Jim Thorpe Originally founded as Mauch Chunk, the town of East Mauch Chunk and Mauch Chunk on either side of Lehigh River was combined and renamed to Jim Thorpe in 1953 after the most decorated Olympic athlete at the time. Nestled in the breathtaking Lehigh Gorge, this Victorian town has been called the “Switzerland of America” due to the picturesque scenery, mountainous location, and architecture. Centralia
Centralia Centralia, a close-knit town of coal miners once had over 1000 residents in the 60s. A fire that has been burning underground for the past 56 years turned Centralia into a ghost town, or a deserted town, to be more precise, with 6 residents remaining. It is a town whose zip code already taken away by the postal service, and its name almost erased by the government. Cemetries It’s sad to realize the best kept structures in town were cemeteries. Two of the three cemeteries in Centralia, they are still very well kept. I read people, though left their home because of fire and health hazard came back when…

Philadelphia Museum of Dance Philadelphia Museum of Dance, a community event, took place in the beautiful setting of Barnes Foundation. For the dance event, I was only there to observe the group warm-up led by Boris Charmatz, a French choreographer. It’s fascinating to see how focused and serious the dancers were, I think they were all audience members.
