We had such a drought this whole summer, yet on the day (8/22) we set out for our long-overdue vacation, it was almost pouring in PA and NJ. Thankfully, it cleared up as we got to upstate New York. As I was driving through Adirondack, the sun came out again. I immediately cheered up, completely soaking myself in the beautiful scenario. Quebec 2022 – Montreal
Day 1 We arrived at Montreal mid afternoon. Our first stop was Gibeau Orange Julep, a giant 3-story high Orange ball on the road side. It has a huge hype, but honestly, I think it’s just okay. The drink was too sweet. The texture was funny, but many people like that in between juice and milkshake feel. The price, wow, over CA$30 for 3 drinks and a poutine! The worst part is that the julep attracted so many wasps, it was almost frightening. For me, it is one of those places that one just needed to be there once. I don’t think I will return. Montreal Plaza The dining experience at Montreal Plaza was simply WOW! At CA$125 per person, I did have high expectations, yet before getting there I couldn’t really pinpoint what all my expectations were. For one, I expected some grand entrance to the restaurant, and maybe a grander name. That didn’t seem to happen. It was very unpretentious. We got to the restaurant right at 6:15 when our reservation was, and the restaurant was quite full already. I didn’t get to take a picture of the outside, except one of their many windows.
