Shumai 上海烧卖 Shanghai Shumai contains sticky rice, meat, soy sauce and green scallion. They are bigger than the Cantonese Shumai which contains meat only. These are my kids’ favorite Chinese appetizer. Soak sticky rice in water for at least 3 hours, then place rice over cheesecloth on a metal strainer and steam for 15 minutes over high heat. Let rice cool down. In the mean time, cut pork or chicken into small pieces and marinate with soy sauce, rice wine and corn starch. Coleslaw With Lime and Sesame Sauce Ingredients: 1/3 of a medium size green cabbage 1/3 of a red onion 2 Tsp Chives A handful of cilantro 5 baby carrots Juice from 1 lime 2 Tsp of honey 2 Tsp of sesame seeds 1 Tsp EVOO 1 small shallot Salt and pepper to taste Directions: Shred cabbage carrots and onion Chop cilantro and chives Mix the above together add rest ingredients in a deep container and use hand blender to make a sauce add sauce to salad mix
